Being the highest-scoring player does not automatically make someone a good captain. What qualities should a basketball captain have? Should leadership come mainly from experience and communication, or can a younger player lead effectively through performances and attitude?

I think a good captain needs communication, accountability, composure, and the ability to keep teammates focused when things get difficult. Experience helps, but age shouldn’t decide who leads. A younger player can lead effectively through consistent performances, hard work, positive attitude, and earning the respect of teammates.
