Certain club rivalries consistently create intense games, even when the teams are not competing for the same position in the standings. What makes these matchups special? Is it history between the clubs, passionate supporters, controversial moments, or the personalities of the players involved?

I think history is probably the biggest reason some rivalries stay intense. Old grudges, memorable matches, controversial decisions, and passionate supporters can give a game an atmosphere that league position doesn’t really matter. Player personalities can add extra drama, especially when someone becomes a hero or villain for the opposing fans.
