Modern basketball provides enormous amounts of statistical information, from basic box scores to advanced analytics. How useful are these numbers when judging players? Can statistics capture things such as leadership, defensive communication, decision-making, and influence on teammates, or do they need to be combined with watching games?

I think statistics are useful for showing production and consistency, but they can’t capture everything a player brings to a team. Leadership, defensive communication, smart decisions, and helping teammates often require watching games. The best picture probably comes from combining numbers with what actually happens on the court.
